Egyptian Minister of Environment Dr. Khaled Fahmy said that the Egyptian government should benefit from the German and American expertise in their steady moving to the green economy.
This came within his speech in the two-day-conference “Egypt Can…with the Sons of the Nile” that kicked off Sunday in Luxor under the auspices of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.
The conference is attended by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and other six ministers.
Fahmy added that Egypt is set to host the 14th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBDCOP 14) in 2018.
He added that the collective work among the environment، foreign and tourism ministers was behind the participants' consensus agreement on Egypt's host ING of the conference.

The Environment Minister pointed out that the government is seeking to apply remote environmental monitoring through using environmental sensors with the aim of controlling the sources of pollution without resorting to traditional methods.
his year witnesses the third session for “Egypt Can” conference;the first edition was held in December 2016 under the title “Egypt Can…with its scientists” while the second one was in July 2017، titled “Egypt Can…with its females.”

This conference comes amid a water scarcity problem faced by Egypt due to the uneven water distribution، misuse of water resources، inefficient irrigation techniques and growing population.
