Egyptian communities abroad prepare for upcoming presidential election

As Egyptian presidential election approaches, Egypt’s embassies abroad take full preparations to facilitate the election process.


Head of Egyptian Community in France، Salah Farhoud said that Paris is the “Capital of light” for the whole world especially Egyptians. 

In statements to “Sada ElBalad” English Website، Farhoud stressed that daily meetings are being held with the Egyptian community in Paris to urge them to exercise their constitutional right and to take part in the upcoming presidential election، in addition to reviewing Egypt’s president، Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s achievements during the last four years. 


He also added  the number of Egyptian Community in Paris is about 10،000، yet only 300 are registered in voters database، noting that Egyptian embassy headquarters in paris has finalized all the necessary preparations، and facilities to receive Egyptian voters. 

The electoral commission will open from 8:00 am till 9:00 pm، Farhoud noted. 

Regarding security measures، Farhoud said “Every Egyptian is responsible and has an important role in the preparation for this great event”، adding “Let us all stand united”.

Additionally، Head of Egyptian Community in Spain، Ibrahim Abul Roos، said that the number of the Egyptian community in Spain is about 4000، concentrated in Madrid and Barcelona. 

In statements to “Sada ElBalad” English Website، Abul Roos said there are attempts to distort the image of the Egyptian presidential elections by Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group members there، yet، weekly meetings are being held with the Egyptian community in Madrid، to urge Egyptians community to take part in the upcoming presidential election، to choose whoever they think is the best leader.

Egypt’s embassy in Madrid took intensive security procedures in cooperation with Spanish police to secure Egyptians voters during election days, Abul Roos added.

On the other hand, Alaa Thabet, head of Egyptian community in Berlin, said on Tuesday: ”we  hold meetings with the Egyptian community in Berlin and Frankfurt to encourage them to take part in the upcoming presidential election”.

 

The Egyptian citizen should realize the necessity of taking part in the election, Thabet added in a statement to Sada ElBalad English website.

 

There is tightened security around the Egyptian consulate and embassy to secure the election process against any disruption attempt of the terrorism elements of the Muslim brotherhood, Thabet noted.

Meanwhile, Media Advisor at the Egyptian Embassy in Morocco, Mohamed Fattouh, said on Tuesday that there is an independent headquarter inside the embassy to facilitate the election process  for the Egyptian community there.

The embassy contacted with the Moroccan authorities to secure the election process there, Fattouh added in a statement to Sada ElBalad English website.

The embassy is working on raising the awareness of the Egyptian community in Morocco to take part in the election process under the supervision of Egypt’s National Elections Commission, Fattouh said.

The elections are set to be held abroad from March 16 till March 18 and inside Egypt from March 26 till March28.
