Egypt’s Ambassador to Morocco، Ashraf Ibrahim stressed that Egypt’s Embassy in Morocco has finalized all necessary preparations ahead of upcoming presidential elections scheduled for March 16-18.
In statements to “Sada Elbalad”، Ibrahim noted that electoral process will take place in the embassy headquarters in Rabat from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
The embassy has urged Egyptian community figures، and members to cast their ballots and exercise their constitutional right in accordance with the rules set by the National Electioral Commission (NEC) for the voting of the Egyptians communities abroad، The Ambassador noted.
Moreover، he added that the number of the Egyptian community in Morocco ranges from 1000 to 1500، yet only 250 are registered in voters’ database.
Regarding security measures، the ambassador stressed that there is a coordination with the security authorities in the Kingdom to secure the electoral process.
Morocco pays a great attention to Egypt’s presidential elections، considering these elections as an important step in the process of democratic transition implemented by Egypt after June 30 revolution.
