Egypt coach Hector Cuper has announced his final squad list for the Pharaohs training camp، from March 20 to 28، which is set to participate in friendly matches against Portugal and Greece.
Cuper has picked his foreign-based squad for the March friendlies، featuring 17 players، where Bidvest Wits’ striker Amr Gamal was excluded، but Al Ain’s Hussein El-Shahat made the squad for the first time.
The list of local-based players saw the return of Al Ahly striker Marwan Mohsen for the first since the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. ENPPI midfielder Mohamed Magdy and Al Ahly defender Ayman Ashraf were among the new faces within Egypt’s squad. Egypt’s full squad list as follows: Mohamed Salah from Liverpool، Mohamed el Neny from Arsenal، Ramadan Sobhi from Stoke City، Ahmed Hegazi and Ali Gabr from West Bromwich Albion، Ahmed el Mohamady from Aston Villa، Sam Morsy from Wigan Athletic، Ahmed Hassan known as Koka from Sporting Braga، Mahmoud Hassan known as Trezeguet from Kasımpaşa، Amr Warda from Atromitos، Omar Gaber from Los Angeles، Essam el Hadary from Al Taawoun، Mahmoud Abdel Moneim known as Kahraba from Al Ittihad، Mohamed Abdel Shafy from Al Fath، Mahmoud Abdel Razek known as Shikabala from Al Raed، Moamen Zakaria from Saudi Arabian club، Al-Ahli، and Hussein el Sahahat from UAE’S Al-Ain.
In addition to 11 local-based players: Mohamed al-Shenawy، Ahmed Fathy، Ayman Ashraf، Abdullah al-Saied، Saad Samir، Hossam Ashour and Marwan Mohsen from Al-Ahly، while the list included only Tarek Hamed and Ahmed al-Shenawy from Zamalek، Mohamed Awaad from Ismaily and Mohamed Magdy “Afsha” from Enppi.
