Al Ahly center-forward Phakamani Mahlambi was called up in the South African national team’s preliminary squad after a decent run of form.
Mahlambi has had a good start to his Al Ahly career given the number of games he played، where he contributed to a goal and five assists in 11 appearances for the Red Devils.
It’s worth mentioning that all of Al Ahly’s four foreign players have been officially called up now to their respective national teams. (Walid Azaro to Morcco، Junior Ajayi to Nigeria، Aly Maaloul to Tunisia and Phakamani Mahlambi to South Africa). Egyptian giants، Al Ahly، secured the Premier League title on Monday night as Al Masry drew 0-0 with El Entag El Harby، winning it with six games left to go as they sit pretty on top of the table.
Mahlambi played his 11th game of the season at the weekend as they made it 15 wins in a row، and this morning he and his teammates woke up as a champion of Egypt. The 20-year-old has contributed to six goals for his side during the course of the season so far – one goal and five assists – and he will now be hoping to get even more time out on the field، given that the league title has been won.
