Chairman of the National Elections Authority (NEA)، Chancellor Lashin Ibrahim، said that the authority has taken steps to remove all obstacles and offer all possible facilities for Egyptians living abroad to urge them to cast votes in the forthcoming presidential elections scheduled for coming Friday for three days.
He pointed out that participating in the presidential elections is a constitutional right and a national duty, moreover, the elections come in light of major challenges currently faced by Egypt.
He added that such challenges impose a moral obligation on everyone inside and outside the country to participate in the elections.

Lashin Ibrahim called on the Egyptians abroad to gather and cast their ballots in various polling stations which will be held at the headquarters of the Egyptian diplomatic missions (embassies and consulates) to choose who is deem worthy to be elected as President of Egypt for the coming four years in light of fair and transparent elections supervised and administered by the National Elections Authority.
He added that Egyptians’ participation in presidential elections is considered one of the most important mechanisms to complete the development and construction process launched by the Egyptians after two popular revolutions in January 2011 and June 2013.

He pointed out that every Egyptian who is living abroad during the elections timetable has the right to cast his vote، as long as he has a national ID card، a fixed passport with a national number or his name is included in the voters’ database and has a permanent residence in Egypt.

He stressed the NEA’s keenness to maintain the transparency of the electoral process through presenting a numerical survey of the names of those who cast their votes.
