Presidential elections: Counting of votes finishes in Berlin

Egypt’s Embassy in Berlin has finished on Monday, votes’ counting process, under the supervision of the judicial committee, Arab league envoy, and Egypt’s Ambassador to Berlin, Badr Abdel Atti.

Moreover, the National election Authority (NEA) thanked all the Egyptians’ expats who participated in the electoral process, expressing its appreciations towards the efforts of Egypt’s Embassy in Berlin and Egyptian community head, Alaa Thabet on providing all the facilities for a successful voting process.

Noteworthy، The three-day period for Egyptians living overseas to cast their votes ended on Sunday.

                                                                                        

The expatriate voting period lasted for three days -- starting from Friday -- from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. local times of each country.

 

The vote counting process of the closed ballot boxes has started.

 

According to Egypt’s official electoral commission، 139 polling stations were set up at Egyptian diplomatic missions in 124 countries.

 

In February، the National Election Authority (NEA) announced the final list of the candidates، including current President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and head of al-Ghad Party Moussa Moustafa Moussa. Sisi has chosen a star as his symbol in the election، while Moussa chose a plane as his symbol.

 

The poll in Egypt will take place between 26 and 28 March. Any run-off vote will take place between 19 and 21 April for expatriates and on 24 and 26 April in Egypt. The winner will be announced on 2 April.
