Egypt’s Grand Mufti، Shawki Allam is going to head to Pakistan for a several-day visit، his Advisor Dr. Ibrahim Negm announced.
Negm said that، Allam would meet Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain، Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and a number of senior officials and religious leaders.
Allam will also deliver a Friday sermon in the largest mosque in the Pakistani capital، Islamabad.
He will also deliver the keynote speech at the "Anti-Extremism" conference to be held in Islamabad، Negm said.
“Mufti’s visit to Pakistan is very important، and comes at a precise time،” Negm said. “Pakistan is suffering greatly from the increasing frequency of extremism and terrorist operations in the recent period.”
Negm pointed out that، Allam will discuss aspects of strengthening religious cooperation and combating extremist ideology.
He will also talk about benefiting from the experience of the leading Dar al-Ifta in countering extremist ideology and terrorism، as well as training Pakistani imams to counter deviant thinking and instilling a culture of moderation، tolerance and acceptance of others.
