CAF reveals rankings for clubs participating in Champions League 2018

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced on Wednesday the rankings of clubs participating in the African Champions League 2018.
The full ranking is as follows:

Tier 1: Mazembe (Congo)، Al Ahly (Egypt)، ES Sahel (Tunisia)، Wydad Casablanca (Morocco)

Tier 2: Sundowns (South Africa)، Zesco (Zambia)، Esperance (Tunisia)، ES Setif (Algeria)

Tier 3: MC Alger (Algeria)، Kampala City (Uganda)، Horoya AC (Guinea)، Mbabane Swallows F.C. (Swaziland)

Tier 4: C.D. Primeiro de Agosto (Angola)، Township Rollers (Botswana)، Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi (Morocco)، AS Togo-Port (Togo)

Cairo will witness the draw ceremony on Wednesday، with last edition’s runners-up Al Ahly being Egypt’s only representative after qualifying over Gabon’s CF Mounana.
Eight former winners are among the last 16 at the group stage: Al Ahly (1982، 1987، 2001، 2005، 2006، 2008، 2012، 2013)، TP Mazembe (1967، 1968، 2009، 2010، 2015)، Esperance (1992، 2011)، Wydad Athletic Club (1992، 2017)، MC Alger (1976)، Etoile du Sahel (2007)، ES Setif (1988، 2014) and Mamelodi Sundowns (2016). Between these teams count 22 titles since the inception of the premier continental club championship in 1965.

- Record winners Al Ahly (Egypt) have appeared at the group phase in 12 previous editions. - All winners of the CAF Champions League since 2005 are present.
