Israeli occupation authority detained 562 child since U.S President Donald Trump decided to move his embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and recognized our Jerusalem as Israeli capital، Abdel Nasser Farwana، head of the documentation and studies unit at the detainees and ex-detainees committee، said.
Farwana condemned the unjust sentence issued by the Ofer Military Court against the child، "Ahd al-Tamimi"، who held her for 8 months، in addition to a fine of about 1500 USD.
On December 19، 2017، Israeli occupation forces arrested al-Tamimi from her house in the town of Nabi Saleh، west of Ramallah، and accused her of slapping an Israeli soldier.
Farwana pointed out that the sentence against the child Tamimi reaffirms that the Israeli military courts are not fair، impartial and independent.
“They are part of the Israeli judiciary، which is one of the tools of the occupation and implements the orders of the security services and the directives of the extremist political and military leadership،” Farwana attacked Israelis military court.
He pointed out that the Israeli occupation forces have stepped up arbitrary measures against them in the framework of a systematic policy aimed at “spreading terror in them، distorting their reality، destroying their future and negatively impacting their physical، mental and emotional development.”
Farwana called on all human rights organizations، local، regional and international، to shoulder their responsibilities and take serious action to protect children and pressure the occupation to stop their detention.
He also called for working for the release of about 350 children who are still in Israeli jails.
