A number of celebrities were keen to cast their votes on the 1st day of Egypt’s presidential elections، which kicked off on Monday، and will last for 3 days.

Among the celebrities who casted their votes were prominent actor Adel Imam، Hussein Fahmy، Labelba، Dina، Fifi Abdo، Rania Youssef، Hakim، Laila Elwi، Inas Nour، Ghada Ibrahim، Magdy Kamel and Maha Ahmed، Rogena and 
Ashraf Zaki
, Youssef Shaaban، Sabreen، Nadia El Gendy، Nabila Ebaid، Mohamed Riad Mohamed Mahmoud Abdel Aziz، Medhat Saleh، Labna Abdel Aziz، Samira Ahmed، TV anchor Maha Bahnasi، Yasser Galal، Hanan Turk، Singer Angham، singer Amina، Rania Mahmoud Yassin، singer Hany Shaker، Amal Rezk، Leqaa Sweidan، and TV anchor، Iman Al-Hosary.

On Monday، all electoral polling stations witnessed mass gatherings of citizens before the opening of the polling stations، as well as Egypt’s governorates witnessed a heavy presence of Police and Armed forces in front of the polling stations.

On Monday، Egyptians have begun three days of voting to elect a president for next four years، which witnessed a heavy turnout of voters who lined up in queues in front of the stations.

Some 60 million people in Egypt، the most populated Arab country، are registered to vote in three days of polling on March 26، 27، and 28.

Noteworthy، The three-day period for Egyptians living overseas to cast their votes ended on Sunday.

The expatriate voting period lasted for three days -- starting from Friday، March 16-- from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. local times of each country.

According to Egypt’s official electoral commission، 139 polling stations were set up at Egyptian diplomatic missions in 124 countries.

In February، the National Election Authority (NEA) announced the final list of the candidates، including current President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and head of al-Ghad Party Moussa Moustafa Moussa. Sisi has chosen a star as his symbol in the election، while Moussa chose a plane as his symbol.

The winner will be announced on 2 April.
