Egypt and Zamalek goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shennawy will not partake in the 2018 World Cup in Russia after his anterior cruciate ligament injury during Zamalek’s last game against Ittihad Al-Sakandary in the 31th round of EPL.
“I am thankful for everything. I am suffering an ACL injury،” the goalie said on his official Twitter account. “I will fly to Germany to finish needed medical tests and know the extent of the injury.”
Before the medical results came out، the goalkeeper Zamalek’s medical staff suspected that the player is suffering an ACL injury. He will now miss the rest of the season with the White Knights and will not join the Egyptian national team in Russia.
