EgyptAir announced the conclusion of an agreement with Etihad airways to widen cooperation between the two carriers.
On Monday، Egypt official carrier، said in a statement that the agreement would cover، in its initial stage، additional destinations in Africa، North Asia، Australia. This will let customers of both airlines to rest comfortably. Ticket sales will start، according to the agreement، on Monday.
Safwat Mosallam، Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company said “Partnering with successful partners to strengthen and expand our network of destinations is one of the pillars of our strategic plan and to expand our code sharing agreement with Etihad Airways.”
“This would give our loyal customers smooth and convenient access to a number of major cities in Australia and South Korea.” Mosallam added.
Peter Baumgartner، Etihad Airways' Chief Executive Officer said that EgyptAir is one of the oldest and most experienced airlines in the region and has a strong presence in the African continent.
"The partnership between the two carriers means that our customers will enjoy unprecedented access to many cities as we enhance our services in the markets we are already serving such as Kenya and Tanzania by connecting easily with the EgyptAir in Cairo International Airport.
