Major General Mohamed Al-Shahawi، adviser to the Army Command and General Staff College، said that the Gulf Shield 1 exercises are a great addition due to a great partnership between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
“Both countries have great military power and Egyptian army ranks the 10th in the world.” “Many countries want to benefit from its experience in combating terrorism،” Al-Shahawi remarked.
The objective of the exercise is to confirm the degree of combat readiness to carry out joint operations in the air، sea and land forces.
Al-Shahawi added in statements to the "10" space channel، that there are operations to address challenges that threat to destabilize Middle East and the Gulf specifically by Iran، which wants to interfere in the internal affairs of Arab countries، as mentioned by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in while addressing the 29th session of the Arab Summit yesterday.
Al-Sisi said that Iran is interfering in Yemen and Syria and thus there must be a military force from the Arab world and in cooperation with Egypt to deter this interference.
