Journalist Yaser Rizk، Chairman of the board of directors at Akhbar Al Youm Institution، said that the printed press suffers from great obstacles related to the editorial and management aspects، which are in dire need to be developed.
During a course organized by the Higher Council for Media Regulation (HCMR) and the National Press Agency، he added that we are always talking about delivering the economic terms to the readers in an understandable to inform them about what is going on in the country.
He added that we have listened to the government's demands for positive information. We، in turn، want a law for the freedom of information circulation.
The law should be issued as soon as possible under a political will to provide these information as legislation of laws alone does not guarantee the access of information.
Rizk stressed that the press organizations have been trying for years to develop their work، but bureaucracy، useless municipalities and government corruptive policies hinder all their attempts.
He added that if a journalist received accurate information from its source، there wouldn’t be inaccurate news، especially among talk shows presenters، who influence the public opinion.
Some of those TV presenters are unaware of several terms، such as the difference between the challenges and threats and risks.
He stressed that Egypt faces strong criticism، in addition to the qualitative leaps of some Arab countries that preceded Egypt in this domain.
Finally، He urged all Egyptians، especially who are in high-level positions to do their best to restore Egypt’s leading position in the media field again.
