Islamic State claimed responsibility for a blast that hit a voter registration center in the Afghan capital Kabul on Sunday، the militant group’s AMAQ news agency said، according to Reuters.
The blast، carried out by a suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest، killed at least 31 people and wounded 54 others، a health ministry spokesman said.

AMAQ did not provide further details or evidence to back up its report.

The new death toll given by spokesman Wahid Majroh could not be immediately confirmed. But a police official told AFP on condition of anonymity that at least 25 people had been killed and 70 wounded.

It was earlier reported that a suicide bomber blew himself up outside a voter registration center in the Afghan capital Kabul on Sunday، killing at least four people and wounding more than 20، officials said.
