Egypt enjoys healthy relations with Africa: Speaker

Egyptian House of Representative Speaker Dr. Ali Abdel Aal، said today that the Egypt and African countries are enjoying stronger relationship after the fall of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Abdel Aal explained that Cairo’s relationship with African continent had deteriorated before June 30th، 2013.
During a press conference organised by MP Mustapha Al-Jundi at the parliament to announce his candidacy for the presidency of the African Parliament in the presence of a large number of African journalists، Abdel-Aal said that Egypt will not forget the great role played by African countries during the 1973 war، when it boycotted Israel and expressed solidarity with Arab countries.
The Speaker said President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi، is striving to cement Egypt’s relationship with the continent، stressing that Africa is of strategic importance to Egypt’s economy and its national security.
He pointed out that the continent، together with Egypt، is facing great challenges such as combating terrorism and eradicating poverty.
