Sudan to stimulate border trade between Egypt and Libya

Sudan's Minister of Commerce Hatim al-Sir Ali and North Kordofan’s governor، Ahmad Haroun discusses today ways to stimulate cross border trade between Egypt and Libya through Hamrat al-Sheikh، a strategic town situated 200 km north-west of the capital، Khartoum.
Ali stressed in his statement to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat news agency that his ministry is keen to develop cross border trade to curb smuggling operation and provide Sudanese states with basic goods.
“This aims to create balance between the internal markets within border states following the instructions of President Omar Al-Bashir” Ali remarked.
He said that the ministry is working in accordance with Action Plan 2018 to support the efforts of the states.
