Al Zamalek’s ex-coach ‘Henry Michel’ dies at 70

Al Zamalek’s former coach، Henry Michel died at 70 years old on Tuesday morning. He led Zamalek two seasons in the 2006-07 before moving to the Moroccan national team. He returned and led Al Zamalek in 2009 but was sacked due to poor results.

From 1966 to 1982، Henry Michel won four French league titles، played for the Duke from 1967 to 1980 and took part in the 1978 World Cup.

After retiring، Michel became France's Olympic coach and crowned the 1984 Olympic Games. He led the French national team in 1986 to Mexico in the semi-finals before losing to West Germany.

Henry Michel has led a number African and Arab teams، notably Tunisia، Morocco and Cameroon، South Africa's Sun-Downs، Al-Nasr Saudi، Al Ain UAE and Moroccan Raja.
