The Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate (PCJ) announced on Wednesday that journalist Ahmed Abu Hussein has died of his wounds during covering the "return marches" on eastern border of the Gaza Strip.
The head of the PCJ Nasser Abu Bakr said that Abu Hussein was killed two weeks ago, shot by Israeli snipers.
He pointed out that this crime is added to other crimes committed by Israel against journalists.
On 6 April, Palestinian photographer Yaser Murtaja was shot in the abdomen while covering the protests near Gaza’s border with Israel. At the time he was wearing a blue flak jacket with the word “PRESS” clearly written on it. He died from his wounds in hospitals the following day, according to Middle East Monitor.
By killing of journalist Abu Hussein; the number of martyrs in Gaza rose to 40 people last March.
In the east of Gaza City، the Israeli occupation forces attacked dozens of Palestinian civilians with live ammunition and tear gas.
The peaceful popular marches along the northern and eastern borders of the Gaza Strip continue for the fourth week in a row.
Noteworthy، at least 30،000 Arabs marched towards the border on Friday، hurling rocks and firebombs at soldiers.
The Gaza health bureau said last week about 39 Palestinian were killed in the disturbances and that more than two thousands were injured.
