Ingredients: 9 oz. fresh pizza dough ¼ cup all- purpose flour 1 (7.06 oz.) package shredded Quesadilla Cheese or Oaxaca Cheese ½ tsp. Italian seasoning 1 tsp. olive oil ½ Tbsp. corn meal
Pizza Sauce: 1 tsp. unsalted butter ½ tsp. extra virgin olive oil 1 ½ Tbsp. onion، finely diced ¼ tsp. garlic، minced ¾ cup tomato puree 1/8 tsp dried oregano 1/8 tsp sugar 1/8 tsp kosher salt or to taste ½ tsp. fresh basil، chopped
Directions Place pizza stone into a cold oven. Preheat conventional oven to 500F. Pizza sauce: Preheat a small saucepan on medium-low heat for 2 minutes. Add in butter، olive oil، and onion. Saute for 1-2 minutes or until translucent. Add in garlic and saute for 30 seconds. Add in tomato puree، oregano، and sugar. Bring mixture to a boil and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add in basil and salt. Stir to combine and set aside until ready to use. Flour a clean working surface and roll out pizza dough to form a 10” round. Sprinkle corn meal on top of the pizza peel and transfer rolled out dough onto the pizza peel. Pour pizza sauce in the middle of the dough، using a large spoon، spread sauce onto pizza dough in a circular motion، leaving ½” of the outer edge bare. Brush olive oil onto the outer edge of the pizza. Sprinkle cheese on top of sauce. Sprinkle italian seasoning on top of cheese. Transfer pizza to the pizza stone in the oven. Cook pizza for 9 minutes. Remove pizza using pizza peel. Let pizza cool for 1 minute، serve hot، and enjoy!
Note: Do not remove hot pizza stone from the oven. Allow stone to cool in the oven، once your ready to power off your oven. The stone may crack if it does not gradually warm or cool.
