Iraqi Culture Minister، Firiyad Rawanduzi said that Sharm al-Sheikh city is considered as one of the most important Arab tourist destination.
In press statements to “Extra news” TV Channel، Rawanduzi added that the choice of Sharm al-Sheikh city to host the 44th meeting of United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Commission for the Middle East reflects that Egypt is a country of Safety and Security.
Moreover، the Iraqi minister added that the holding of the conference in Sinai is a clear challenge against the terrorist groups، noting that tourism will continue in Egypt and the whole region.
On the other hand، Rawanduzi pointed out that There are many tourist areas in Iraq have been occupied by the terrorist organization of ISIS، adding that the security situation in Iraq since 2003 has greatly affected Iraqi tourism.
Noteworthy، The 44th meeting of United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Commission for the Middle East kicked off in Sharm al-Sheikh city earlier today، Tuesday.
The Conference brings together high-level policymakers، industry leaders and prominent academicians to lay the policy، and strategic groundwork، in addition to identifying innovative solutions for the development of human capital in tourism in the Middle East and North Africa region and advance the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
