The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and United Arab Emirates (UAE) reached $4.9 billion in 2017 compared with $2.8 billion in 2012.
According to a report prepared by Trade Policies and International Organizations Department at the Emirati Ministry of Economy، The UAE imports from Egypt achieved a growth recording $2.1 billion in 2017 compared with $649 million in 2012.
The UAE exports to Egypt also witnessed a growth، during the same period، recording $2 billion in 2017 compared to $1.5 billion in 2012.
The report also highlighted the strong ties binding Egypt and UAE، noting that they are exerting much efforts to increase mutual investments and trade exchange as well as cooperation between their private and public sectors.
The report reviewed the diversification of the Egyptian exports، including، fuel products، which constitute 14.3 % of the total Egyptian exports in 2016. While vegetable exports accounted for 12.5 percent of total exports of goods in 2016 compared to 8.7 percent in 2011.
On the other hand، Egypt’s imports of goods reached $58.1 billion in 2016، including equipment and electrical appliances accounting for 16.1 per cent of total imports of goods.
