Transport Minister، Hisham Arafat، received Indonesia Ambassador Hilmi Fawzi in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss ways of cooperation between the two sides in the fields of railways and metro، in the presence of the minister's advisor for international cooperation and his assistant for railway and metro.
At the beginning of the meeting، the Indonesian ambassador expressed his country's desire to cooperate in the field of railways with Egypt. Dr. Hisham Arafat welcomed the cooperation in this important field، ، and discussed the possibility of cooperation in the mobile units of the first and second lines of the subway.
Arafat said “there is a plan to develop the two lines، the development of the first line includes new infrastructure and mobile units as well as the development of 23 trains and the supply of 32 new trains and automatic ticketing machines، while the second line development includes the development and modernization of mobile units، As well as automated ticketing machines.”
A delegation of Indonesian companies will meet officials of National Railways Authority of Egypt and the National Authority for Tunnels to identify projects that can begin the joint cooperation between the two sides in the field of transport.
