Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Eng. Tarek Kabil stressed the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership between Egypt and Britain.
He added that the historical partnership positively reflects the depth of bilateral trade between the two countries. It also would contribute to achieving surplus in the trade balance between the two countries. The Minister added that the British investments in Egypt value $ 5.6 billion through 1450 projects.
He pointed out that there is great coordination with the British officials to consider the future of joint trade and economic relations، especially in light of Britain's exit from the European Union.
This came during the first meeting held by the Egyptian minister and members of the Egyptian side within the Egyptian-British Business Council after it has been restructured.
The meeting reviewed the role of the Council in promoting economic cooperation between Egypt and the UK during the next phase.
The Egyptian-British Business Council will play a major role in supporting the intra-trade movement and encourage the private sector in Britain to set up joint projects in Egypt in various sectors، which will contribute to boosting joint trade and economic relations to wider horizons.
Kabil also pointed out to the importance of conveying the true image of the Egyptian economic reform program and its successful outcomes to the British government and other European countries in order to familiarize the international business communities with the great improvement in the business climate in Egypt.
The Egyptian Minister also stressed that the Egyptian government is working to overcome all the obstacles that may face the existing and new British investments in the Egyptian market.
