Parliament: Egypt succeeds on GERD negotiations

Chairman of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee Tariq Radwan, said that the meeting among Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan on Grand Ethiopia Renaissance Dam(GERD), which was held in Addis Ababa this week, included the continuation of negotiations to reach a result that preserves the rights of the three countries. 


He pointed out that Egypt succeeded in managing the negotiations so far and has the ability to continue in this by the way that preserves its rights and national security.

Radwan said in a press statement on Thursday that although the outcome of the last meeting did not reach clear points of agreement. The document that was issued is a good step provide positive basis for negotiations with greater strength, especially in the details that have a strong importance And effective in the case of dam Renaissance.

 

The Chairman of the Foreign Relations committee said that the aspect of providing the Advisory Office with a compilation of all the inquiries and observations regarding the inception report project was not approved by the three countries to obtain a response. This aspect is one of the most important points in the document because it guarantees continued negotiation and discussion on the objections raised by Egypt in the file.
