Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on Thursday condemned Israeli violence against demonstrators in Gaza، killing 62 Palestinians on Tuesday and Wednday.

"Of course we are against the killing of people by Israel. We are very sad and sympathetic to the Palestinians and we are against Israel،" the prime minister said، according to the Bernama news agency.

Malaysia also opposes moving of the US embassy to Jerusalem، Mahathir said.

Noteworthy، Israeli forces fired at the Palestinians during protest over the controversial decision to move the US embassy to Jerusalem.

Israel killed 62 Palestinian peacefully protesters، who demanded just and freedom.

On December 6، U.S. President Trump decided to move U.S embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. A move that inflamed tension in the region and destroyed the prospects of peace in the Middle East.

UN General Assembly convened on 21 December for an emergency session، passed a resolution supported by decisive 128 against 9 with 35 abstentions declaring Trump's decision "null and void”.
