Egyptian Ambassador to Japan Ayman Kamel held a meeting with chairman of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Ishige Hiroyuki.
The meeting touched all means of boosting economic and trade relations between the two countries on the light of the recent visit paid by the JETRO’s chairman to Egypt، in which he met President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi and Eng Sherif Ismail، the Prime Minister.
During the meeting، the Egyptian ambassador affirmed that there are many investment opportunities available to Japanese companies in the framework of the major projects being implemented in Egypt، especially following the economic reforms that have been implemented to improve the investment climate and provide guarantees and incentives required for foreign companies.
For his part، JETRO’s chairman expressed his happiness over his recent visit to Egypt and his meeting with the Egyptian President. He stressed that he has put forward a number of proposals to strengthen cooperation with Egypt through seminars held during the last period. He added that those proposals include sending missions of Japanese companies to Egypt، as well as supporting the Egyptian capabilities in the field of exports.
The meeting also tackled the obstacles facing Egyptian agricultural exports to Japan، especially citrus، as well as the potential available for exporting textiles and building materials، especially marble، from Egypt to the Japanese market.
