PM chairs a meeting for lakes، fisheries development

Eng. Sherif Ismail، the Prime Minister chaired today Wednesday a meeting over the development of lakes and fisheries.
The meeting was attended by seven ministers، including، Dr. Hisham Arafat، Minister of Transport، Electricity Minister Mohammed Shaker، Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr، Planning، Follow-up and Administrative Reform Hala Al-Saeed، Local Development Minister Abu Bakr Al-Gendy. Cairo Governor Atef Abdel Hamid، Giza governor Kamal Al-Daly، heads of the National Authority for Tunnels and the Egyptian Company for Metro Management and Operation also have attended the meeting.


After the meeting the Prime Minister gave the green light for the inauguration of drilling process of the third phase of metro line 3 that is set to carry 1.5 million passengers per day.
Prime Minister stressed on the government's keenness to complete the phases of the metro network construction، which is carrying millions of citizens daily. This comes in addition to the continuous development and modernization of the current lines، and the continuous maintenance of them.

He pointed out that the implementation of metro projects will reduce the traffic congestion on Cairo streets and axes. He added that after completion of the implementation metro network، it will carry nearly 9 million passengers a day.

Transport Minister pointed out that the implementation of the third phase will be carried out in three parts. The first part comes with a length of 4 km extending from Ataba to the Kit Kat with four tunnel stations. The four stations are Nasser، Maspero، Zamalek and Kit Kat. It will be inaugurated in November 2021.
