Egypt’s Foreign Minister، Sameh Shoukry met earlier Wednesday Vietnam’s communist party representative، Fu Fan Thung.
During the meeting، Shoukry expressed Egypt’s keenness to boost bilateral relations and joint coordination in various international forums، stressing on the historic relations between the two countries.
Moreover، Shoukry hailed the notable progress achieved by Vietnam regarding the economic and development fields، through the modernization experience begun since the 80s of the last century.
Additionally، Shoukry referred to Egypt’s readiness to boost joint investments، in the light of the country’s eagerness to benefit from Vietnam’s expertise in developing Fisheries، Rice cultivation in water scarce areas and Shipbuilding industry، in addition to cooperation in Communications، Oil، Gas Renewable energy fields.
Shoukry also announced Al-Azhar’s approval to increase the number of scholarships granted to Vietnam from 3 to 10 scholarships annually.
Regarding Counter-terrorism Filed، Shoukry hailed Vietnam supportive attitude towards Egypt in this regard، reviewing the efforts exerted by the armed forces and police to combat the phenomenon of terrorism at the internal level، especially within the framework of the Sinai Comprehensive Operation 2018.
For his part، Vietnamese official expressed his happiness to visit Egypt، stressing on his country’s keenness to boost relations with Egypt.
Moreover، he praised Egypt’s pioneering role to consolidate stability and peace in The Middle East region.
Meanwhile، The Vietnamese official added that the bilateral relations between the two countries witnessed an obvious development during the last period especially after the historic visit of Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to Vietnam، pointing out to the need to expand cooperation fields to include; Education، Counter-Terrorism، investment، and information security.
