Egypt to sign agreement with Saudi Arabia on electrical connection next June: Official

Egypt will sign an agreement with Saudi Arabia on electrical connection with a capacity of 3 thousand MW on June 22، an informed source in Egyptian Electrical Ministry.

The source pointed out that the Egyptian and Saudi sides have completed all the studies related to the project.

The source pointed out that it is scheduled to operate the power lines between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in early 2021.

It is worth to mention that the project of electrical connection with Saudi Arabia aims to be a central axis in the Arab electrical connection.

It aims to establish infrastructure for electricity trade between the Arab countries in preparation for the establishment of a common market for electricity.
