The Egyptian and Uruguayan national football teams will train at the Yekaterinburg Arena ahead of their first FIFA World Cup game، Director of the Sverdlovsk Region's Informational Policy Department Aleksandr Ivanov told Sputnik on Wednesday.

Earlier on Wednesday، local authorities said that the teams' training sessions could be moved to other training grounds in order to spare the grass at the stadium.

Egypt and Uruguay are set to go head-to-head in their first game at the World Cup on Friday. Both teams will hold their pre-match training on Thursday.

"Both training sessions will be held at the Yekaterinburg Arena،" Ivanov said.

A total of four group-stage games will be played at the Yekaterinburg’s 35،000-seater stadium، including Egypt taking on Uruguay on Friday.

Egypt have been drawn in Group A and will play Uruguay in Yekaterinburg on June 15، hosts Russia in St. Petersburg on June 19 and Saudi Arabia in Volgograd on June 25.
