Hosts Russia have a point to prove as they host Saudi Arabia in the opener of FIFA World Cup 2018 on Thursday in a contest between the two lowest-ranked teams participating in the football extravaganza in Moscow.

Ranked 70th، Stanislav Cherchesov’s side will make the most of home support as they face Saudi Arabia، who are three spots ahead of the hosts.

Russia، who have never made it to the knockout stage before، will make the most of a relatively weak Group A which also comprises of Egypt and Uruguay.

Meanwhile، Saudi Arabia return to the world stage for the first time since 2006 and under a manager who did not get much time to prepare his team.
Less than half an hour to go before kickoff.

The Opening ceremony is underway right now in front of a packed stadium. Flag bearers of the participating teams enter the stadium as well as Brazilian legend Ronaldo.
