Lebanese megastar، Majida El Roumi will perform live at the Cedars International Festival، at the Cedars of God، in Bsharri mountain، Lebanon on July 28.

The concert will begin at 7:30 PM (Cairo local time).

Cedars International Festival، held since 1963، is a non-profit organization with a vision to revive its festivals and to promote it to both artistic and touristic international level in a way that reflects its rich history، cultural، and emblematic value of the “Cedars of god forest”، according to festival’s official website.

The Cedars International Festival’s mission is to increase tourism in the district of Bsharri and reflect the positive image of what symbolic and deep-rooted traditions this region holds in the history of Lebanon.

The festival will also feature the performance of Colombian Lebanese pop singer Shakira on July 13.

Noteworthy، Majida El Roumi is a Lebanese singer، her father is the great musician Haleem El Roumi who appointed the Legend Fairuz، in her early beginnings، as a chorus singer at the radio station in Beirut، went on to compose several songs for her and chose for her the stage name Fairuz، according to el cinema.

Majida El Roumi was influenced، since childhood، with top Arab singers and musicians like Muhammad Abdul Wahhaab، Om Kolthoum، Abdul Haleem Haafez and Asmahaan.

Raymond Safadi، her cousin، was fascinated with her voice and thought that she could be very successful if she pursued singing as a profession.

Majida El Roumi was appointed Ambassador for the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on World Food Day، October 16، 2001 in an official ceremony in Rome، Italy.

She has participated in numerous round-table discussions on the role of FAO Ambassadors in helping the Organization combat world hunger. As FAO Ambassador، Majida inaugurated the First Annual Agricultural Week in Lebanon and dedicated the book prepared by FAO “Sanaabel al-kheir” on 8 November 2005 during an official ceremony to celebrate World Food Day 60th Anniversary at the UNESCO Palace in Beirut.

Since the 1970s، Majida always released singles، with some of them were not included in her albums. She also performed many Christmas carols in several recitals، and dedicated patriotic singles for countries she visited. Most well-known singles are “Adam Wa Hanan”، “Ahenou Ilayka”،” Ahla W Sahla”، “Al Bahrain” and others.

After almost 8 years without releasing an album، Majida’s fans were surprised by Etazalet El Gharam (I Quit Love) which spoke to a younger audience.

The album was released in 2006 under the ‘’Good News 4 Music’’ productions. It peaked the top rankings in the charts from the release day and stayed top 1 several weeks; it was also seen in the top 20 after four years from its release.

The work is still selling well after six years، and a new copy by EMI Music is now selling out after the previous label was sold out.
