Gone but never forgotten… Social media users commemorate "Cinderella " Soad Hosny with a rare photo session

Friday 22/6/2018 marks the 17th death anniversary of the “Cinderella of Egyptian cinema” legendary actress، Soad Hosny. 

A number of social media users shared on Thursday a rare photo session legendary actress، to commemorate the legendary actress on Facebook.

Soad appeared in the photo session as a female farmer، wearing a Jellabiya and wearing a headband while keeping her hair braided.

Hosny was photographed in several positions including carrying a fruit platter.

The Cinderella was famously known for her simple yet stunning dresses، and for her natural beauty، which is one of the reasons she is forever immoral in our minds.

Soad Hosny (1942-2001)
Soad Hosny was an Egyptian actress born on January 26، 1942، in Bulaq، Cairo، she was famously known as the "Cinderella of Egyptian cinema". 

She was one of the most influential actresses in the Middle East and the Arab world.

Soad had made her debut in 1959 when she preformed Naima in “Hassan wa Naima” movie. She performed in more than 83 films، as well as a single television series، He and She، in addition to eight radio series.

Her final screen appearance was in the 1991 film، The Shepherd and the Women، directed by her ex-husband، Ali Badrakhan.

Hosny died after falling from the balcony of her home at Stuart Tower in London on June 21، 2001. Her funeral in Cairo was attended by some 10،000 people. 

She had no children and was survived by her widower، her last husband، writer Maher Awad، whom she married in 1987.

She is known for her roles in Hassan wa Na'ima، Cairo 30، Esha'et Hob، Al karnak،El-garema el-Dahka، Aylet Zizi، saghira ala al hob، Amiraa.. Hobi Ana، El Safira Aziza، Ghroob we Shrooa، and el zoga el Tanya.
