Bayern Munich and Inter Milan may not have won the Champions League in a while، but both clubs have proved their European pedigree thanks to an incredible World Cup stat، as the Daily Mail said.
After Croatia qualified for the World Cup final by beating England، it means that the two clubs will have had a player at every final since 1982.
Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic both play for Inter and should now feature in Sunday's showcase event.
They could face France midfielder Corentin Tolisso of Bayern Munich who came on in the 86th minute of Tuesday's 1-0 victory over Belgium.
Four years ago، in Brazil، Bayern had seven players involved as Germany defeated Argentina to win the World Cup.
In 2010 in South Africa، Arjen Robben and Marc van Bommel started for Holland in their 1-0 defeat by Spain، with Edson Braafheid coming on as substitute.
Willy Sagnol was the solitary Bayern representative in 2006 when France were beaten on penalties by Italy.
In 2002، they had a stronger presence as Germany again made the final. Oliver Kahn، Thomas Linke and Jens Jeremies all played as Germany were downed by Brazil with Ronaldo scoring a double.
Bixente Lizarazu had better fortune against Brazil four years prior، playing as France ran out 3-0 winners over Brazil in the 1998 World Cup.
Brazil's Jorginho was Bayern's only player in the final of USA 94. Brazil beat Italy 3-2 on penalties after the game finished goalless.
Bayern had three players in the 1990 final; Klaus Augenthaler and Jurgen Kohler and Stefan Reuter entered the fray as a substitute for West Germany، who beat Argentina 1-0.
West Germany fell at the final hurdle four years earlier. They lost 3-2 to Argentina but Bayern duo Lothar Matthaus and Eder started، while Dieter Hoeneß come off the bench to play.
And it was a similar tale in 1982. Paul Breitner، Wolfgang Dremmler and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge started the trend for Bayern when West Germany lost 3-2 against Argentina.
1982، Italy 3-1 West Germany: Gabriele Oriali، Giuseppe Bergomi (Inter Milan)، Wolfgang Dremmler، Karl-Heinze Rummenigge، Paul Breitner (Bayern Munich)

1986، Argentina 3-2 West Germany: Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (Inter Milan)، Norbert Eder، Dieter Hoeness، Lothar Matthaus (Bayern Munich)
1990، West Germany 1-0 Argentina: Andreas Brehme، Jurgen Klinsmann، Lothar Matthaus (Inter Milan)، Stefan Reuter، Jurgen Kohler، Klaus Augenthaler (Bayern Munich)
1994، Brazil 0-0 Italy (Brazil won 3-2 on pens): Nicola Berti (Inter Milan)، Jorginho (Bayern Munich)
1998، Brazil 0-3 France: Youri Djorkaeff، Ronaldo (Inter Milan)، Bixente Lizarazu (Bayern Munich)
