India's Ambassador to Egypt Sanjay Bhattacharya said that without the efforts of the Ministry of Culture، they would not be able to organize “India by the Nile festival”.

He revealed that the Indian tourism movement to Egypt increased by 26% in 2016 while it increased by 30% in the last year.

The mega annual cultural festival 'India by the Nile'، is organized to celebrate Indian culture and its diversity، it will focus on classical culture this year. The 12-day event will host a wide range of events and start on March 6.
MP Osama Haikal، President of the Commission of Culture and Information in the House of Representatives received on March 11، South Korean Ambassador to Egypt، Yoon Yeo-cheol، at the parliament headquarters.
The Ambassador stressed on the importance to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fileds، Haikal said.

Presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said on June 28، that it was agreed during a meeting between Sisi with the French Foreign Minister، Jean-Yves Le Drian to establish a cultural partnership between Egypt and France.
The agreement comes in the framework of bilateral cooperation in the huge cultural projects currently being constructed by Egypt، such as the arts and culture city، International Opera in the new administrative capital، Grand Egyptian Museum، National Museum of Egyptian Civilization، and new El Alamein city museum.

UNESCO name Luxor 'Capital of Arab Culture’
Egypt’s President Abdul Fattah Al Sisi has accepted the patronage of a ceremony which held from March 15 to 18 to celebrate after UNESCO had named Luxor 'Capital of Arab Culture’ for 2017، according to the Culture Minister Inas Abdul El Dayem.
“In cooperation with Luxor governor، the closing ceremony will mark the handover of the flame of the Arab Capital of Culture to the city of Oujda، Morocco، in the presence of Moroccan Minister of Culture Mohamed El Arag and state officials and diplomats،” Abdul El Dayem added.
Luxor celebrated earning the title ‘Capital of Arabic Culture’ for 2017، the title which is given to different Middle Eastern every year as part of an initiative from the Arab League، in collaboration with UNESCO’s Cultural Capital program. The initiative aims to promote Arab Culture internationally.
Cairo International Book Fair 49th edition
In the form of confirming the return of Egypt to the forefront of the cultural scene، the 49th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF)، kicked off on January 26 by the Minister of Culture، Dr. Inas Abdel Dayam، at the Cairo International Convention Centre، in Nasr City، where it witnessed a high turnout from Egyptians since the very beginning.
CIBF ran from January (26-10،) with the theme for the year is "Soft Power: How?”، and CIBF's Person of the Year is Abdel Rahman al-Sharkawi.
The late Egyptian writer Abdel Rahman al-Sharkawi was chosen as the character of this edition due to his long history of writing about Algeria. He is the scenarist of Djamila Bouhired، in addition to his hundred literary novels، as well as his journalistic long history.
The 49th edition hosted a lot of new activities for the first time، such as establishing theaters، cinema halls and fine arts halls، in addition to increasing the number of books dedicated to children.
It compromised 1194 pavilions along 117 stands to sell the books. The book fair also offered a cultural and artistic program divided into 16 official halls.
In this edition، 27 nations participated in the Book Fair، which included 15 Arab، 10 foreign and 3 African countries، with Algeria as the guest of honor of this edition.
Algeria participated in the exhibition's activities through a number of writers and writers and some 70 publishers، about 10% of Algerian publishers.
In this edition، the number of publishers had reached 867 publishers، including 367 Arab publishers، 9 foreigners، and 3 Africans، 485 Egyptian publishers (7 press organizations and 34 government institutions)
A number of public universities، public، and private institutions had participated in the book fair including Cairo University، Ain Shams University and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology، Cairo University Center for Foreign Languages and Specialized Translation، and others.

The book fair also set a special children's corner dedicated to the names of influential personalities، such as Baba Sharo، Abla Fadliya، Mohammed Fawzi Theater and the late children's author، Magdy Abdel Rahim، which also included artistic and cultural workshops and activities in handicrafts and waste recycling.
City of art and culture
Housing Minister، Dr. Moustafa Madbouli said during his participation in the celebration of the laying of the foundation stone of the new administrative capital، confirmed that the new administrative capital is the first project to be implemented in a timely manner according to the directives of the president to implement various developmental and urban projects with the highest quality.
The city of arts and culture will be implemented in partnership between the Ministries of Defense and Housing and is scheduled to be implemented within 30 months، Madbouli added.
The city will include a large ballroom accommodates up to 2500 people and equipped with the latest technology، a two-story theater accommodates up to 750 people for special shows، a “pocket theater” accommodates up to 50 people، A cinema studio with satellite connection، three training rooms - a state-of-the-art sound recording studio - Opera History Museum and an open museum of modern art - a library and a central library accommodates up to 6،000 people.
