Egypt has strongly condemned، in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday، the terrorist bomb attack، which took place in southwestern Pakistan on Sunday. The attack claimed the lives of a candidate and his driver. Sunday's attack targeted the vehicle transporting Ikramullah Gandapur، a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party led by cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan، in the city of Dera Ismail Khan.
The statement also included the condolences for the victim’s families and hoping speedy recovery for the injured people.
The Government and the people of Egypt are expressing their solidarity with the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan against terrorism.
The Statement also expressed the need of continuation of international efforts to combat and defeat extremism and destructive ideas. Egypt strongly condemns major terror attack in southwestern Pakistan
The Sunday bombing is the latest in a number of attacks targeting politicians campaigning ahead of the elections، scheduled to be held on July 25.
