An adorable miniature horse - thought to be the world's smallest - has been frolicking around with a sweet puppy at an equestrian exhibition in Russia، daily mail reported.

Gulliver measures in at a tiny 49cm (19.29inch) from hoof to shoulder blades.

The 'miracle' pony strutted his stuff at the 20th Hipposphere International Equestrian Exhibition at the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre in St Petersburg، Russia.

The American Miniature horse، who was born in June 2017 at the Hidalgo pony farm in northwest Russia، was the size of a cat when he was born، reported the New Zealand Herald.

Measuring just 12inches (30cm) tall and weighing three kilograms at birth his owner Elena Chistyakova described Gulliver's birth as a 'miracle.

She said: 'It was as big as a cat. I was so happy، it is a miracle.'

Gulliver is ironically named after Gulliver's Travels، where the namesake is a giant to the little people who capture him on Liliput Island.

The tiny horse looked content being the bigger animal for once as he played with a dog at his recent show - he even let the pooch jump on for a ride.

Most American Miniature horses measure 86.4cm (34inchs) high at most.

This makes one-year-old Gulliver almost half the size of the usual breed.

Gulliver is believed to be in for a chance at taking the Guinness World Record for smallest living male horse.

The smallest female horse record has been held by Thumbelina، a miniature sorrel brown mare، who measures 17.5 in (44.5 cm) since 2016.
