The National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) begins the events of Human rights` week in Alexandria tomorrow، Saturday. This comes in the framework of the NCHR `s work strategy and its executive plane to spread and promote the culture of human rights.
The week includes several activities and events in cooperation and coordination with the executive authorities، the civil society organizations and Solidarity Ministry and Alexandria Library.
Noteworthy، the weeks of human rights has been held in the governorates of Sohag، Aswan، Menya، Matrouh، Assiut and Beni Suef. NCHR is an Egyptian human rights organization established in 2003 with a mission of promoting and maintaining human rights in Egypt. The NCHR publishes annual reports concerning the current status of human rights within the country. Former UN Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali played a "significant role" in creating the organization، and served as its president until 2012. Since 2012، the organization has been headed by Hossam El Gheriany.
