Egypt’s Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Dr. Sahar Nasr، and Dr. Mohamed Shaker، Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy، held a meeting today Wednesday with President of the African Development Bank Akinwumi Adesina، on the sidelines of their participation in the Africa Investment Forum in Johannesburg in South Africa.
The meeting discussed cooperation in supporting the private sector and development of infrastructure in Sinai.
The AFDB’s President affirmed the bank’s readiness to provide the necessary support to push the economic and social development process in Egypt، notably، the development of Sinai. He pointed out that Egypt adopts a pioneering strategy to invest in the human power.
Adesina praised the economic reform program، especially the improvement in the investment climate، which was behind attracting more foreign direct investment in the recent period. Adesina expressed his pleasure to make a strong partnership with the Egyptian government that endeavors to boost its economy، promote growth and improve the standard of living of the Egyptian citizens، pointing out that the African Development Bank currently has 30 projects in Egypt at the value of 2.8 billion dollars.
At the end of the meeting، the Minister extended an invitation to the AFDB President to participate in the 2018 Africa Forum، which will be held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi from 8 to 9 December 2018 in Sharm El-Sheikh.
