Rising actress، Nahed El Sebai shared on her official “Instagram” account a rare picture of herself with her grandfather، legendary actor Farid Shawqy.
El Sebai’s latest artistic role in film “Kedba Bidaa” (White lie)، which is currently playing in the cinemas.

The film is written by Loay elsayed، and written- directed by Noor Arnaoot (Noor Helal).
The plot revolves around an Egyptian man who falls in love with an American girl and takes her with him to Cairo، which puts them through many paradoxes due to their different lifestyles، customs and traditions. She learns on that he wants to marry her and move permanently to Egypt، which she did not take into account.
Noteworthy، Farid Shawqy is one of the most famous Egyptian and Arab world actors.
Farid Shawqy Mohamad Abdou، mostly known as Farid Shawqy، he was born in 1922 in the popular quarter of El-Sayeda Zainab، in Cairo governorate.
After receiving the Applied Arts diploma، Farid joined the High Institute of Dramatic Arts.
Meanwhile، he started acting small roles with Anwar Wagdy. He later wrote his own films and became a super star.
Of his famous titles are; “Malek al-Terso” (The King of the Third Class)، “Wahsh alShaashah” ( Beast of the Silver Screen) and “Al-malek” ( The king).
For the first decade he played the villain، yet ended up playing more human touching roles.
His action films attracted great audience of simple people. He won the State award in 1955 “Gaalouny Mogremann” (They made me criminal)، in 1956، his film “Al fotowwa” ( The bully) was nominated for Berlin Film Festival's Golden Bear.
In 1962، he received the state Production Award and in 1994 he was honored by the Cairo International Film festival.
His films “Hakatha al-ayyaam” (So are the days) and “La tabky ya habeeb al-omr”(Don’t cry sweet heart)، won several prizes.
On stage، with Naguib el Reehany Troup he played the lead role in “Al-dallouaa” (The spoilt)، “Hekaayet koll yowm” (The everyday story) and many other plays.
Farid also starred in a number of Lebanese، Syrian and Turkish films.
In 1951، Shawqy married Hoda Sultan his acting partner who gave him two daughters، Nahed Shawki، and Maha Shawki.
After their divorce، he got married to Soheir Tork in 1970 who also gave him two daughters، Rania Farid Shawki، and Abeer Shawki.
