United Nations envoy to Yemen، Martin Griffith، said Thursday that the Yemeni government had signed an agreement with Houthi militias for the first time since the crisis broke out.
"The parties to the conflict in Yemen have agreed to swap prisoners،" Griffith said in remarks broadcast by the Arab Al-Hadath channel during a session of talks held Thursday in Sweden under the auspices of the United Nations.
Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom urged parties to the Yemeni conflict to engage in constructive talks during the negotiations.
