Approximately 1،000 Syrian refugees are set to return to their home country this week، General Security announced in a statement Wednesday، according to "Daily Star".

The process is scheduled to begin 6 a.m. Thursday، when buses will start to depart from various gathering points across Lebanon، before making their way through the Masnaa، Abboudieh and Al-Zamarani border crossings.

The returnees will gather in Tripoli and Akkar in the north; Nabatieh، Sidon، Tyre and Shabaa in the south; Burj Hammoud in Mount Lebanon; Masnaa and Arsal in Bekaa and Beirut.

General Security has been registering Syrian refugees who are willing to return voluntarily and organizing their transportation، as well as serving as an intermediary with Syrian authorities، who in some cases may reject a potential returnee.
