Workers at a car showroom in Puerto Vallarta، western Mexico، were stunned to spot a large crocodile wandering around the premises. The security guard for the Chrysler dealership had heard some noise coming from inside the showroom and thought it was a thief، local media reported، according to khaleej times.

However، when the workers and security guard went inside the showroom، they were shocked to see a two-metre long crocodile calmly moving around cars. In a video recorded by one of the workers، the crocodile rapidly moves away when it notices people around. A man can be heard in the video informing Civil Protection service officials about the reptile.

According to local police in Puerto Vallarta، the crocodile was not hurt nor did it cause any damage. It was taken back to its natural habitat but it is not known how the animal managed to get into the showroom، according to reports in Mirror. Some reports suggested that the crocodile had come from a nearby golf course and was first spotted hiding under one of the cars.

Helios Hernandez Hurtado، from the Management Unit for the Preservation of Wildlife in the University Centre of Costa، said that of the 200 crocodiles living in Puerto Vallarta، there are only 45 adults that are more than two metres long. "In the last eight years، more than 15 crocodiles have died، all of them over two metres long. They died after being run over، stabbed or fished by hooks made of metal construction bars or even shot،" Hurtado said.
