Cases of child marriage hit 0.8% of Egypt’s population: Study

Experts of the General Agency of Public Mobilization and Statics have prepared a study about early marriage in Egypt.
The study authors aimed to survey rates of child marriage across the country within the category 10-17 years.
They also south to spot reasons of that marriage.
The study revealed that those who tied the knot in 2017 were 117220 children between 10-17 years.
That number presented 0.8% of Egypt’s population then.
The study proved that illiteracy is commoner between the children spouses.
Some 40% of those married children are illiterate.
On the other hand، about 36% of the children spouses dropped out schools in early years of age.
