Police thwart attempt to smuggle tons of petrified trees

General Directorate of Securing corridor of the Suez Canal have succeeded in aborting an attempt tons of petrified trees abroad.
Those petrified trees were touted as human heritage.
Police got a wind that some people intended to smuggle forbidden items abroad via Al Ain Al Shkona sea port.
Police got permission from State Prosecutors to intercept the cargo.
Investigators found two containers including slabs of marble and petrifies trunks of trees.
It is worth to mention that Egypt houses many sites of petrified forests dated back to prehistory ages.
Early man constructed settlements on banks of the Nile River across the country.
