Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been honoured in a very unusual and unique way، Liverpool Echo news website reported.
An Egyptian Professor named a new discovery after the Reds striker - a new species of ant.
The new species Meranoplus Mo Salah was discovered in Oman by Mostafa Sharaf، a Professor of Ant Systematics at King Saud University who is also a Visiting Professor at the World Museum in Liverpool.
A massive fan of Mo Salah، Professor Sharaf honoured his favourite footballer by naming the new ant species after him.
It's not yet known how Salah feels about his unusual namesake.
Unlike the Liverpool striker، the ants are usually pretty slow and spend a lot of their time foraging.
You can see Mo Salah (the ant version) at the World Museum in Liverpool.
If you happen to be travelling to Oman you can find the ant Mo Salah in shaded areas with lots of small shrubs and grass.
According to Professor Sharaf's observations، the ant is easy to spot thanks to its long head and bi-coloured body.
Writing in the scientific journal Peer J، Professor Sharaf said: "We dedicate this species to Mohamed Salah (Mo Salah)، the Egyptian professional soccer player of the English club Liverpool and the Egyptian national team."
