Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee Calls for overcoming obstacles facing the return of S.Korean tourism to Egypt

Deputy Chairman of the Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee Tarek el-Khouli assured Monday on the need to cooperate with Seoul For the return of South Korean tourism to Egypt.
el-Khouli said in a press statement on Monday that the efforts of parliamentarians from the two countries should be unified to overcome the obstacles facing the return of Korean tourism to Egypt.
He called for the resumption of direct flights between the two countries.

last August،، a government official told Reuters that Egypt’s tourism revenues jumped 77 per cent in the first half of 2018 to around $4.8 billion compared with the same period last year.

The number of tourists who visited Egypt in that time jumped 41 per cent to around 5 million tourists، added the official.

Egypt’s annual tourist influx rose to 8.3 million in 2017 from 5.3 million in 2016. Yet results are still well off the 12 million figure for 2010.

The tourism sector is one of the country’s main sources of foreign currency. A total of 14.7 million people visited Egypt in 2010 before the uprising.
