The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) will host the activities of the Fourth High-level African Ministerial Conference on Meteorology (AMCOMET) under the auspices of the Minister of Civil Aviation، Younis El Masry.
The conference will be held during the period from February 16 to 23.
The Conference confirms Egypt's pioneering role in Africa and coincides with Al-Sisi’s presidency over the African Union in 2019.
The conference aims to deepen African relations in the field of meteorology، exchange of expertise، researches and training in meteorology، and discussing the impact of climate change on African countries.
The conference، scheduled to be held in a few days، includes Women Leadership in Africa Workshop in Meteorology، as well as the meeting of the African Ministerial Conference on Meteorology (AMCOMET)، chaired by Minister Younis Al-Masry.
AMCOMET convenes top-level decision-makers together with weather and climate experts to strengthen the continent’s response to challenges of extreme weather and climate change which are undermining sustainable development.
